1.       Why should I study this course?

          With the development of world's economy, increasing of global mobility, and the improvement of people's living standards, the infection rate of foodborne parasitic infections, opportunistic parasitoses and imported parasitic diseases is increasing instead of decreasing. Through learning this course, you will gain the following benefits:

1.1 To understand the infection mode, infection way and symptoms of various common-seen human parasites, to master the diagnosis and control methods for these parasitic infections, and to provide knowledge to protect ourselves from infection.

1.2. To help medical students to connect basic medicine with clinical medicine, master the diagnosis and treatment of parasitic infections, and comprehensively improve the practical abilities.

2.       What are the subjects of this course?

        This course is aimed to teach the morphology, life cycle, pathogenic mechanism, diagnosis method, epidemic characteristic and prevention & control principle of the common-seen human parasites, to provide guidance for the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of parasitic infections. Meanwhile, it is also aimed to publicize the diagnosis and control methods for the parasitic infections, to protect the public health.

Teaching objectives :

This course teaches the important human parasites around the world. Through online and offline blended teaching for the  theories and practicals, students will master the basic knowledge including morphology, life cycle,  pathogenic mechanisms, diagnosis methods, epidemic characteristics and prevention & control principles of the common seen human parasites, and experimental skills for parasitoses diagnosis and prevention, eventualy  comprehensively cultivate the comprehensive ability of "diagnosis and treatment of parasitic diseases".

The score of this course is composed of unit test (40%), final exam (40%), class discussion (20%). Unit tests can be tried for three times, and your highest score will be recorded. Final exam can be done only once, so be serious before starting your exam and do the exam prudently. Each of the discussion put in every chapter should be engaged in at least once.  

Students who have got more than 60 points can got 3 credits (60≤X≤85 is passed, 60≤X ˂85 is excellent). The platform will provide paper certificate, but it need to be paid for ¥100RMB.

Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Anatomy, Histoembryology, Physiology, Pathophysiology and Immunology.
