Why shall I take the course?
Course objectives:
By the end of this course, learners are able to
(General objectives)
--be a better prepared pre-service English teacher with enhanced skills of teaching observation and improved understandings of the new curriculum reform, its classroom application.
(Specific objectives)
--better understand core competences and the ways to realize them in English teaching, especially, reading classes;
--enhance English reading competences by doing text analysis and working out mind maps and question chains;
--develop knowledge and competence of observing, analyzing, appreciating, and critical thinking of English classroom teaching.

How will I learn?
Teaching methods and procedures:
--Do text analysis and work out mind maps, question chains and learning objectives.
--Read experienced teachers’ teaching designs and compare yours with theirs.
--View and analyze class videos from the four aspects of teachers’ instruction, students’ learning, ---classroom life, and teacher quality.
--Appreciate as well as critically think of experienced teachers’ teaching design and actual classroom teaching, and create alternatives of teaching at some points.
--Reflect on what have you learned from the whole process.

2. Participation into the discussion of the teaching videos: 50% 在讨论区对教学视频需首先以“回复”的方式回复教师提出的问题,进行讨论;讨论/回复每个教学视频不少于5次,每条讨论不少于20字;所有讨论/回复满20次,即得满分。
