课程概述

本门课程内容选材丰富多样,紧密结合现实生活,涉及数字世界、学术诚信、时代英雄、家庭亲情等话题;坚持以学习者为中心、全人教学、学用一体的教学理念,教学设计兼顾人文性和工具性,从文化背景、语言表达到读、写、译等各项技能,全方面实现知识实用化和技能系统化。

课程共8个单元,各单元包含文化背景、思政教育、语言知识、篇章分析、阅读策略、写作方法、翻译技巧等7个板块。各板块内容讲解紧密结合学生语言能力提升的需求,从词汇、语法、修辞、篇章结构入手,注重阅读、写作、翻译等基础语言技能,搭配语言学习策略和技巧的讲解,为学生语言应用能力提升奠定基础。

    教学团队专业,经验丰富,先后承担教育部大学英语教学改革试点学校项目、教育部大学英语教学改革示范学校项目,并荣获国家级精品课程、国家级精品资源共享课程,河北大学优秀教学团队荣誉称号。主讲教师知识结构搭配合理,含4名教授,1名副教授和4名讲师,其中4人具有博士学位;课程负责人4次获河北省优秀教学成果奖,主持国家级精品资源共享课程建设项目1项、国家社科基金项目1项和多项省部级项目。

授课目标

该课程以丰富的文化知识为基础,坚持立德树人方针,注重提升学生人文素养,坚持课程思政,培养学生正确的价值观和思辨能力。

在中西文化对比中,培养跨文化交际意识,提高跨文化交际能力和成效。

词汇、修辞手法、语法和篇章结构等细致入微的语言基础知识学习帮助学生夯实语言基础,实用性的学习策略及技巧提升语言实际运用能力和学生自主学习能力。

1.1 Cultural background: A welcome speech, American higher education system

1.3 Language focus: words, phrases, parallelism, metaphor and simile
1.4 Text analysis: structure of a speech: opening, body and ending

课时目标:Students have a better understanding of relationship between parents an children and practice the translating skill: conversion.
