课程概述
本门课程内容选材丰富多样，紧密结合现实生活，涉及数字世界、学术诚信、时代英雄、家庭亲情等话题；坚持以学习者为中心、全人教学、学用一体的教学理念，教学设计兼顾人文性和工具性，从文化背景、语言表达到读、写、译等各项技能，全方面实现知识实用化和技能系统化。
课程共8个单元，各单元包含文化背景、思政教育、语言知识、篇章分析、阅读策略、写作方法、翻译技巧等7个板块。各板块内容讲解紧密结合学生语言能力提升的需求，从词汇、语法、修辞、篇章结构入手，注重阅读、写作、翻译等基础语言技能，搭配语言学习策略和技巧的讲解，为学生语言应用能力提升奠定基础。
教学团队专业，经验丰富，先后承担教育部大学英语教学改革试点学校项目、教育部大学英语教学改革示范学校项目，并荣获国家级精品课程、国家级精品资源共享课程，河北大学优秀教学团队荣誉称号。主讲教师知识结构搭配合理，含4名教授，1名副教授和4名讲师，其中4人具有博士学位；课程负责人4次获河北省优秀教学成果奖，主持国家级精品资源共享课程建设项目1项、国家社科基金项目1项和多项省部级项目。
