课程概述

In MOOC Economic Geography, in addition to the fundamental theories and skills for the study, by understanding the impact of globalization and knowledge economy on the new landscape and trend in interregional economic division and cooperation, students could gain some insights into the spatial distribution of regional economic activities. Therefore, they could identify an ideal location for specific firms or propose solutions to optimize an industrial ecosystem. The instructors will focus on detailed explanations of the fundamental theories and the development of their students’ abilities to put a combination of theories into operation. In formulating and optimizing policies for regional economic development, students will be encouraged to apply basic principles in Economic Geography in light of the region- and industry-specific development needs.

授课目标

With a team of renowned instructors and abundant teaching recourses, this course can help the following three types of students: undergraduates whose majors are Geography, Geographic Information System, Human Geography and Urban and Rural Planning, National Economic Management, Urban Management, and other related ones; postgraduates who have acquired some basic knowledge in the area and are well-prepared to study Economic Geography; decision-makers and researchers in regional planning, urban planning, market planning, business consulting, and so on.
