International Business Planning is designed for college students to learn about the major functions of business and how they are interrelated, and provide them a step-by-step guide to working out a complete plan of starting an international new venture.
Following the principle of “learning by doing”, the course not only introduces the basic principles and knowledge of business planning, but also guide the student to apply professional knowledge and analytical tools of Strategic Management, Marketing, Business Organization and Financial Planning and develop plans for starting up new ventures.
The course experience begins with brainstorming and bringing up an innovative ideas meets the specific needs in domestic or foreign markets, followed by carrying out opportunity assessment, designing prototype of products or services, analyzing market and competition, and ends with writing a comprehensive business plan and making a dynamic oral presentation.
Through the whole journey of idea generation, market & competition analysis, business model designing, organization building, marketing and financial planning, and coping with special issues of international business, the students get familiar with the process and laws of business planning process, enhances their innovative consciousness, strategic thinking, skills of writing business plan, and most importantly, lead them into the world of opportunities open to them as entrepreneurs.
Objectives
l Be able to understand the role and basic process of business planning, work out and assess the business opportunities, build specific business models, understand the ways and methods of resource raise, and grasp the ability to analyze and make business plans according to real situation.
l Master the principles and skills of modern business planning,understand the differences between international business planning and domestic business planning, master the key points of international business planning, and solve the basic and special challenges.
l Be able to collect, sort out and analyze various data and materials, and work out solutions to various practical problems in the field of international business planning.
Specific Tasks
l After the teaching of Unit 1-3, every student put forward three innovative ideas through market observation, analysis and thinking;
l Discuss with your group and decide the final topic of Business Planning;
l Conduct market survey, data collection and work out the first draft IBP;
l At midterm present your business concept to the class, test your ideas and collect feedbacks. Discuss with the teacher and other students on key points of your IBP, refine your business model and revise the business plan;
l Conclude the executive summary, finish the IBP and submit it.
