Regional Anatomy is a discipline that delves into the various regions of the human body, focusing on the normal position, form, relationships with adjacent structures, layering, and clinical applications of organs and structures. The teaching content of this course covers eight chapters including the back, upper limbs, lower limbs, head, neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis, and perineum. Each chapter is subdivided into several sections, including an overview, the location of regional anatomical structures, relationships with adjacent structures, form, blood supply, lymphatic drainage, and nerve innervation, all of which are closely related to clinical applications. Through the study of this course, students will not only establish a clear three-dimensional understanding of the structures of the human body, but also deepen their comprehension of the fundamental theories of anatomy, consolidate basic knowledge, and master essential anatomical skills, laying a solid anatomical foundation for subsequent courses in basic and clinical medicine, especially in surgical disciplines like obstetrics and gynecology, and radiological diagnostics. Additionally, the course aims to cultivate students' abilities in self-learning, observation, comprehensive judgment, expressive thinking, as well as problem analysis and solving.
The arrangement of the course content aligns with China's teaching material system and instructional sequence, with each section functioning as an independent unit, including learning objectives and content summaries, allowing for systematic learning or focused learning based on individual needs. The course is taught in a way that is easy to understand yet precise, with a complete basic knowledge system. All images used are sourced, and a list of references is provided at the end of each chapter for ease of self-study and reference to original literature. This course is conducted in English with Chinese-English bilingual subtitles and is primarily designed for MBBS and long-term clinical medicine undergraduates. It also serves as a valuable resource for anatomical teachers engaged in English teaching, medical postgraduates, and clinical doctors who wish to study or review independently.
Value goal:
Cultivate students' professional quality of cherishing life and caring for patients, and have good teamwork spirit.
Capability objectives:
Enable students to master basic anatomical skills and have a deeper understanding of the human body structure, cultivate the students' observation ability and hands-on ability, and enable students to integrate the knowledge of anatomy with clinical applications.
Knowledge objectives:
Enable students to master the normal structure of the human body, understand the position, shape and relations of various organs and structures in each region of the human body.
