In this course, we are going to provide students and practicing managers with a complete and practical introduction to modern human resource management concepts and techniques, like HRM strategy, job analysis, personnel recruiting and selection, training and developing employees, performance management, compensation management and other HRM issues.
The highlights of the course are the recognition and understanding of the essential contents and methods of different human resource management activities, as well as the abilities of analyzing human resource management problems the students should acquire. In addition, each chapter will focus on one or two topics in the context of digitalization and social media, and other trends that affect HR practices.
Our team members would use variable teaching methods like case study, role play and group discussion to enhance the interest of the participation of students in the learning process. At the same time, with these methods, the teacher could show a similar situation just like the real practice to help students learn to react in a “real” scenario, improve their abilities to solve practical problems.
Learning this course will help students learn and retain key course concepts while developing skills that future employers are seeking in potential employees.
Based on the study of this course, students should be able to understand the basic knowledge of human resource management, like the theories, activities and methods. After learning this course, students should have an exact idea about the challenges that human resource management confronted with and be able to analyze the problems existed in human resource management practices. With the knowledge of the latest development of the human resource management practices, students’ abilities on analyze and solve the problems existed in human resource management activities could be obviously enhanced.
Student will pass this course if he or she gets a score no less than 60 points in total.
