Theory and Analysis

 a1. Describe the physical operation of a diode and explain the

VCR for a diode.

 a2. Describe the basic action of a BJT/MOSFET including its

characteristic curves. 

a3. Apply standard parametric models of a BJT/ MOSFET

transistor. 

a4. Analyse and design standard circuits to bias a transistor.  

a5. Describe what is meant by the frequency response of an

amplifier circuits. 

a6. Explain the specifications of a differential amplifier including its

imperfections. 

a7. Describe the basic types of power amplifier, including classes

A, B and AB, and compare their operation critically 

a8. Analyse general circuits with negative feedback, including the

four topologies and dual-port network models
