Welcome to Building Translating and Interpreting Skills, a series of learning modules designed to help us acquire, develop and practice a range of effective translating and interpreting skills. While there are many challenges related to translation and interpretation. I’ve chosen to focus on the following issues:

本课程由视频课和课堂教学组成，视频课分为5章，通过对英汉语言进行语义、习惯用法、语用意义、文化等方面的分析对比、归纳共性，难度层层推进。第一章为课程综述，第二章从词的译法入手，先对英汉语义对比，提出翻译策略，第三章探讨汉英句型异同与翻译方法，第四章介绍翻译的艺术、基本原则与常用方法，第五章也是最难的部分——口译入门，讲解口译技巧，提供大量口译练习。

课堂教学会重点讨论视频课中涉及的问题，一共是四次课，其中最后一次为期末考试，请务必出席。

还要说明一点：本课以英语授课为主。既然要学习英汉互译，就希望同学们能在汉英之间熟练转换，为口译打好基础，当然也有字幕便于大家理解。

Learning by doing. This course grew from a wish to give you the tools that would enhance both their cultural awareness and translating and interpreting skills. You will learn a wealth of practical tips and explore resources about the key elements of the translating process.

成绩满分为100分，60分为及格分数。

SPOC课程需要完成两部分（网络学习加见面课）的学习任务，缺一不可。

无特别要求，适合对英语和口笔译感兴趣的大学学生。
