This course adopts an innovative approach from two aspects: 1, it teaches listening and speaking jointly, aiming for a more scientific and systematic teaching practice. 2, it applies flipped-mode class. It focuses on training on both advanced listening and speaking skills under academic context, specifically, helping students master and identify pronunciation and intonation of English words, grasp outline, select specific information and make judgement, familiarize students with skills of making predictions and making inferences from the context, formal essay/presentation/lecture structure.

Since students are going to take CET 4 (College English Test, Band 4) at the end of this semester, comprehensive test taking skills are covered, too.

Content-based teaching is adopted to design and organize the teaching materials and supplementary exercises are meticulously selected to reach a better learning effect.

1. Daily Performance is subdivided into: attendance 50%, assignment: dictation & imitation 30%, participation 20% 

They together account for 30% of the final. 

2. Final Exam 70%
