This course is designed for engineering students who had an undergraduate level exposure to mathematics and physics, as well as fundamentals engineering theories. The companion book, serving as an English textbook, primarily provides a study basis for technical English with an emphasis in Electrical Engineering fields. The course is designed for one semester 2 credits, which includes 32 credit hours of classroom teaching with appropriate topics selected by the instructors. In the meantime, this course will walk you through the state-of-the-art technologies in electrical engineering for recent 20 years. Students who are interested in particular topics listed in the textbook can follow the bibliography at the end each article for extensive reading.
通过本课程的学习使学生对电气工程及其自动化专业的英语术语有系统的了解,并掌握常用词汇。学会对电气专业资料的检索、阅读、翻译及写作,掌握阐述电类专业的英文表达方式并对电气英语口语有较大的提高,初步能听懂电气类的英文学术讲座。因此本课程的教学方式可以灵活多样,可以将课堂教学、课堂翻译、课堂写作、课堂提问与学生自主学习、报告等形式结合,培养学生应用能力。
