“AIDS” is one of the core courses of “Infectious Diseases. This course “AIDS and I”, focuses on the current epidemic situation, routes of transmission, pathogenesis, diagnostic methods, clinical manifestations, new progresses and challenges in prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS. The target audiences of the course including medical students, other college students, and anyone interested in HIV/AIDS-related knowledge.
The course is based on the 8th edition of the textbook “Infectious Diseases” published by the People’s Medical Publishing House. The teaching team is from Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University, with a total of four teachers responsible for different chapters.
Through this course, we will understand the current situation of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, master HIV/AIDS-related knowledge and prevention measures, thereby eliminate the panic and discrimination, and move together towards zero AIDS.
It is hoped that students will have some basic knowledge of biology and medicine, but it is not a compulsory requirement.

1). Study videos will be released every Sunday; test will be assigned for the week and should be submitted before the following Monday. Test scores account for 40% of the final score (four weeks, 10% per week).
2). The final score of the course are composed by three parts:
-- Unit tests (accounting for 40% of the total score): There is one test after each chapter, which accounts for 10% of the total score;
-- Final exam results (accounting for 50% of the total score);
-- Forum participation (accounting for 10% of the total score).
