课程概述

Have you ever thought that the food you eat, the daily necessaries you use, your work patterns or lifestyle may silently devour your fertility and even lead to infertility in the near future? The World Health Organization(WHO) have conducted a survey in the mid-to-late 1980s, indicated that about 5%-8% of couples in developed countries were affected by infertility, while the prevalence of infertility in some areas was as high as 30%. There are about 50 to 80 million infertile couples worldwide, the researchers estimate that it will increase by 2 million pairs per year. The WHO estimated that infertility would be the third most common disease of humans by the end of this century, just after tumors and cardiovascular diseases, and it has become a  severe challenge for doctors and scientists all over the world. Ultimately, the reason is the continuous deterioration of people's living environment. The pollution of the soil, water, food, and air on which human beings and animals depend, can directly or indirectly poison human germ cells. In addition, drug addiction, alcoholism, smoking and other unhealthy lifestyle, obesity, sexually transmitted diseases, and excessive social pressure are also engulfing natural human fertility!

This course is a comprehensive course that combines and crosses design of reproductive medicine, environmental science, and hygiene. It is a collection of research materials on the environment and human fertility in recent years, introduces the current severe situation of human fertility declining year by year, the concept of human fertility and evaluation methods, environment and environmental endocrine disrupts, the basic manners and mechanisms of environmental impact on human fertility. It also explains the impact of various chemical, physical, biological, and social factors on fertility in full detail. By introducing the relationship between the current decline of human fertility and the environmental degradation, this course aims to help us to identify the hazardous environmental factors to fertility, pay attention to reproductive health care and personal self-protection so as to promote our reproduction health.
