The study of this course could help students build up the knowledge framework and system of international trade, understand and master the basic theories of international trade, as well as the contents, the basis of policy formulation and the applicable conditions of international trade policies and rules, so as to expand the international vision of the students, cultivate and improve their ability to analyze the phenomena and solve the problems of international economy and trade.
The University of International Business and Economics is one of the first institutions of higher learning to set up the major and offer courses of international trade. International trade course was awarded with the National Quality Course in 2005 and the National Quality Resource Sharing Course in 2013 by the Ministry of Education; the teaching team was awarded with the title of National Excellent Teaching Team of International Trade by the Ministry of Education in 2009; International Trade and Principles of International Trade edited by members of the teaching team were awarded twice with the title of Beijing Excellent Textbook.

Through the study, students can understand the historical development of international trade, the rules of international trade operation, determinants of trade benefits and distribution, and master international trade policies and rules. It is expected to cultivate students’ international perspective, modern way of thinking as well as the abilities to identify, analyze and solve the problems of international economy and trade.
