Gongfa (Traditional Chinese Medical Exercise)
As an important part of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) , Gongfa is a discipline that studies the exercise principles, practicing methods, working theories and clinical applications of ancient health cultivation exercise under the guidance of TCM theories. “Gong" refers to Kung Fu, which can improve the mobility and health level of the human body through various specified exercises. “Fa” means practicing methods and principles. With a long history and abundant theories and practices, Gongfa has become one of the basic courses for students majoring in Acupuncture and Tuina.
This course focuses on the basic theories, essential skills and clinical applications of Gongfa including Shaolin Neigong, Yijinjing, and Baduanjin. Based onprofessional exercises, the course also provides Gongfa prescriptions for disease prevention and exercises for health-preservation according to clinical needs, including Cervical Spine Exercise, Lumbar Spine Exercise, Sleep Aid Exercise, Weight Loss Exercise, Lung-strengthening Exercise, Stomach-strengthening Exercise, Fatigue-eliminating Exercise, Health Preservation Exercise and Epidemic Prevention and Body-strengthening Exercise.
The course features in high quality, focuses on the cultivation of exercise skills, and emphasizes the nature of traditional Chinese medicine, aiming to improve health and prevent diseases by practicing Gongfa and lay the foundation for further clinical study on Acupuncture and Tuina. It can not only meet the learning demands of students majoring in Acupuncture and Tuina, but also provide a reference for those who are interested in Gongfa.
