'Wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine（TCM）' is a course designed to introduce you to the fascinating field of TCM. The course includes the philosophy of Traditional Chinese Medicine such as yin yang and five elements, basic physiology of the human body and mind, essence qi , blood and body fluid, etiology, pathology , prevention and health care of TCM. On the premise of ensuring the basic knowledge, the content bases on the medical professional characteristics, stands out the relationship between basic theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine and its application in clinic.

The course is designed to provide the students with the necessary theory, lay a solid foundation for further courses, such as Diagnostics, Formulas Chinese Mateira Medica and other professional courses, cultivate the students' TCM thoughts and improve the ability in skillful handing of the basic theory of TCM.

After taking this course, Students are required to master the fundamental theories, knowledge and methodology of TCM.

Upon completion of the course, students should be able to:

1. Describe the concept of yin-yang, five elements, essence, qi, shen, blood and body fluid,channels

2.  Describe the principles of yin-yang, five elements and the main functions of organs, component and functions of channel systerm, features of the pathogenic factors, main pathogenesis, principles of prevention and treatment  in TCM

3.  Master the theory of yin-yang, five elements, visceral manifestation and qi blood and body fluid, channel systerm, etiology, pathologhy,principles of prevention and treatment in TCM for learning other medical lessons.

4.  Understand the physiology of human body with the theory of yin-yang, five elements, visceral manifestation, essence, shen, qi, blood and body fluid,channel systerm. 

5. Analyse the disease and symptoms with the etiology, pathology.
