课程概述

This course is designed for Beginners who would like to learn Chinese pronunciation and try to use the language patterns to express themselves.

On this course, you will be introduced to the key elements of Chinese phonetics, including the four main tones and main rules of spelling. You will also cover everyday language like greetings, basic questions, and numbers. After learning the Chinese pronunciation, we will focus on the following six topics of conversation:
Basic greetings and self-introduction
Family members and different jobs
Ordering food and making payments
Dates and time
Weather and health
Asking directions and making plans

In addition, our course will introduce Chinese characters required by HSK1 and shed light on Chinese culture. By the end of the course, you will not only be able to use daily Chinese to express yourself, but also discover a new world through studying a language different from your mother language.



成绩要求

This online course instructed Chinese Pinyin and more than six daily use topics in Chinese language, including useful expression, and vocabulary related to each topic, such as ordering meals and asking for directions. Additionally, aspects of Chinese Culture were explored and discussed in the course.


STUDY REQUIREMENT

9 weeks, 4 hours per week


LEARNING OUTCOMES

·      Pronounce Chinese with the help of Pinyin

·      Explore approximately 150 vocabulary words

·      Demonstrate proper usage of vocabulary within context of use

·      Apply some sentences in daily communication and achieve language proficiency of New HSK 1

·      Understand some similarities and differences between Chinese culture and one’s own culture

ACCREDITATION

Learners who have successfully complete the nine weeks of the course and passed the final exam could be considered for meeting the requirements of a 2-credit course at Shanghai International Studies University.
