Histology and Embryology consists of two subjects. Histology is the study of the tissues and of how the tissues are arranged to constitute organs, which provides students with an understanding of the structural and functional organization of the human body at the cellular. There are four fundamental tissues, epithelial tissue, connective tissue, muscle tissue, and nervous tissue. Embryology is a science that studies the normal development as well as the birth defects of a human being in the maternal uterus. The emphasis will be on the morphological changes and congenital anomalies that take place during development. The teaching purposes of these subjects are to guide the students acquiring the basic theories and knowledge of Histology and Embryology and gaining related basic skill training. Upon completion of this course, students will establish a solid basis for learning other basic and clinical medical courses.
