《学成语 知中国》是一门适合对中国文化感兴趣的留学生语言文化类本科课程，也适合高校非中文专业的本科生和热爱中国传统文化的社会公众。本课程以成语教学为领，以社会生活的不同领域为纲，精选那些能够深度反映中国文化特质、人民精神面貌、祖先优良传统的成语作为教学素材，在精讲成语用法的同时深度剖析其文化内涵。

本课程突破以”讲为主”的传统课堂模式，以留学生的实际应用场景展示成语的用法与内涵，将多元文化的视角带入课堂，集趣味性、知识性和实用性于一体。《学汉语 知中国》是一个语言进阶的收获之旅，更是一个深度了解中国的探寻之旅！

An Overview of this course

The wisdom of Chinese idioms has accumulated and condensed along thousands of years. It is a living fossil recording the changes of Chinese society, and a symbol of the collective memory of the Han nationality. An idiom, is a key to know and understand Chinese society.

Our course, "Xue chengyu, zhi zhongguo"(Learning Chinese idioms and knowing China) is not only fit for overseas undergraduates majored and interested in Chinese language and culture, but also suitable for those students from other majors as well as the public who are always fond of Chinese traditional culture. Our course will take the teaching of idioms as the guide and make the different fields of social life as its outline. As for the teaching materials of this course, we have selected the idioms which could deeply reflect the characteristics of Chinese culture , the people's spiritual appearance, and our ancestors’ fine traditions. Furthermore, we will analyze the cultural connotation in depth and idiom usages at the same time.

This course is a breakthrough to the traditional class-teaching mode of "teachers’ lecture matters most at class", displaying the usage and connotation of idioms with the practical situations of overseas students, and bringing the multicultural perspective into the classroom. It’s entertaining, intellectual and practical. "learn Chinese know China" will be a language-advancing harvest experience, but also a exploration journey for you to understand China thoroughly.

本课程旨在打造一门高质量的线上成语教学课程，给热爱汉语和中国文化的学习者带来更便利的学习资源，以精炼的讲解、生动的故事、鲜活的应用场景深入浅出地展示成语的内涵与用法，使学习者深度领略中华文明的魅力。具体目标包括以下两个方面：

1）在语言上，帮助学习者建立对汉语成语的整体认知。

 ①使学习者熟练掌握150个以上的常用成语。

         ②使学习者了解汉语成语的多种来源。

 ③使学习者获得对汉语成语结构特点和整体功能的基本认识。

 ④在完成上述目标的基础上感知汉语意合性的特点、中华民族的整体性思维特征。

2）在文化上，激发和强化学习者对中华文化的正面认知。

发挥成语言简义丰，生动形象且易于记忆的特点，展示中华民族的优秀传统和民族美德，重点展示成语文化中“以和为贵”的价值取向和“讲信修睦”的精神面貌。通过知识拓展、成语链接等方式拓宽和加深学生对中国社会各个方面的了解。

Objective of this Course

The purpose of this course is to provide a high-quality online idiom-teaching course,  and supply more convenient learning resources for those who love Chinese language and culture. By concise explanation, vivid stories and practical situations, you were able to appreciate the charm of Chinese civilization.

The specific objectives include the following two points:

1) in terms of language, it helps learners to establish their overall cognition of Chinese idioms.

 (1) to make learners master more than 150 commonly used Chinese idioms.

 (2) to make learners understand the various sources of Chinese idioms.

 (3) to enable learners to acquire a basic understanding of the structural characteristics and overall functions of Chinese idioms.

 (4) to perceive the characteristics of Chinese parataxis and the holistic thinking methods of Chinese nation on the basis of accomplishing the above objectives.

2) in terms of culture, it contributes to stimulate and strengthen learners' positive cognition of Chinese culture.

This course will bring out the characteristics of Chinese idioms. That is, the idiom is a combination of concise form and plentiful meaning, and they are vivid and easy to memorize. And this course will display the excellent traditions and virtues of Chinese nation. What’s more, it will highlight the value orientation of “Harmony matters most” and the spiritual outlook of “Keep faith and peaceful relations” in the culture of Chinese idioms. It helps to widen and deepen learners’ understanding of all the aspects of Chinese society by means of knowledge expanding, idiom extending and so on.

1. 在规定时间内完成课程学习。

2. 按时完成单元测验。单元测验题型为，单选题、多选题、判断题。

3. 积极参与单元作业互评，单元作业为简答题，不少于50字。未参与互评的学习者只能获取作业分数的50%，互评需达到5次。

4. 按时完成线上期末考试。

5. 积极参加论坛讨论，只有参与教师在发起的讨论话题，方可计入成绩。

成绩评定方法：单元测验10%，单元作业30%，期末考试30%，课程讨论30%。

Certificate requirements

1. Complete the course study within the specified time.

2. Complete the unit test on time. Unit test questions are: single choice questions, multiple choice questions and true or false questions.

3. Actively participate in the mutual evaluation for unit homework, which is designed as short-answer questions; you are expected to write with no less than 50 characters.  Learners who do not participate in the mutual evaluation can only get 50% of the homework score, and the mutual evaluation needs to reach 5 times.

4. Finish the online final exam on time.

5. Actively participate in the discussion of this forum; your participation in teacher-initiated topics is part of your general grades for this course.

   
   

   Grade assessment method:10% of the unit test,  30% of the unit assignment, 30% of the final exam, and 30% of the course discussion.
