课程概述

1. Science of Farming System is one of the major courses in Agronomy. It is a comprehensive applied discipline, which is based on Soil and Fertilizer SciencePlant ProtectionPlant PhysiologyAgrometeorologyAgroecologyAgri-technical EconomicsCrop Cultivation Science and Principles of Plant Breeding.

2. Science of Farming System systematically introduces the basic theory and production technology of farmland cropping system, farmland fertility maintenance system, farmland protection system, farming management system and regional farming system. This course absorbs the theory and thought of Agriculture System Engineering and Agriculture Ecology, and assemble the contents of Agronomy related disciplines with the view and thought of integrity, overall and continuity. Science of Farming System courses are aimed at promoting the coordinated development of agriculture, forestry and animal husbandry, achieving continuous growth in crop yields and economic benefits, and ultimately increasing the productivity of the agricultural system. 

3. The main task of Science of Farming System courses is to make students understand the situation of agricultural resources and characteristics of agricultural production, so as to establish the overall thinking and sustainable concept of agricultural production. After learning from the course, the students should systematically master the basic theory and production technology of farmland cropping system, farmland fertility maintenance system, farmland protection system and farming management system. After finishing this lesson, the students should have the ability to study and solve the problems of agricultural structure adjustment, efficient cultivation technologies, sustainable development, and so on.
