Through the study of this course, students can mast the basic knowledge and basic principles of physical geography, lay the subject foundation for the study of professional courses. At the same time to master the main skills of natural geography and can be applied in practical work,  improve the ability of relevant field work, have the ability to distinguish and analyze geographical landscape forms and causes, establish the initial human-terrestrial relations and regional system coordination symbiosis and regional sustainable development concepts.

In the content arrangement, "Physical Geography" takes the grasp of the natural geographical elements and the relationship of the factors as the clue,  starts from the elements of the internal and external geographical environment, and gradually converges from the top and bottom directions, then returns to the exposition of the composition structure and landscape phenomena of the surface natural geography system. The course be given as  be divided into seven chapters, with 61 knowledge points. 

As an online teaching course, "Physical Geography" is the result of the cooperation of five teachers, It seeks to highlight the content series of classical and subject series, with the wishes of constructing a coordinated relationship between human and local and a regional system of benign development. Advocating the diversity of the cognition of natural geographical phenomena, and paying attention to the personalized interpretation of the process and causes of the action
