The course of Crop Cultivation Science is a specialized course of agronomy and a main course, which is based on botany, plant physiology, soil science, fertilizer science, agricultural meteorology, plant pest control and so on, combines the theories and techniques from many disciplines in agriculture and biology, studies the growth and development of crops, the formation of yield and quality and their relationship to environmental conditions, to explore the theories, methods and technical science courses of realizing high yield, high quality, high efficiency and sustainable development of crops through cultivation management, growth regulation and optimal decision making, method and technology of science theory courses, and also a technical application and practical course that transforms agricultural science into real productive forces. This course mainly includes "Introduction" and nine "Field crops", of which nine "field crops" include four main crops: wheat, rice, maize, potato; Fibre crops: cotton; Oil crops: rape; Legumes: soybeans; Multigrain crops: millet and sorghum; including a wide variety of crops. Its online course content includes 66 lectures. The key points of study are the law of crop growth , organ construction, yield formation, and the comprehensive theories and techniques of efficient stress resistance and high yield.
The main task of this course is to acquaint students with the production and development of major crops and their importance in the national economy, master the biological characteristics of main crops, the crop cultivation theory of crops, requirements for environmental conditions and main cultivation techniques, and identify the modern crop cultivation techniques of crops.
1. Through the teaching and learning of Crop Cultivation Science, students can understand the growth characteristics, production law and economic values of various crops in different regions, and understand the basic overview of crop production at home and abroad, as well as the national policies and development directions of crop production.
2. Make clear the basic characteristics of crop growth and development, master the cultivation techniques of different crops, learn to analyze the problems in the production process of crops, and master the methods and approaches to solve the problems.
3. In the process of learning, students' independent observation, thinking and analysis of problems and production practice skills are cultivated, and students' ability to solve problems in production practice is shaped.
