Welcome to our course “Reading English for Academic Study: Language and Thought”. In this course, you will
1. broaden your knowledge on social and historical issues through studying four themes, “Stereotyping”, “HeForShe”, “More than colors”, and “Globalization or localization”;
2. develop academic reading skills through doing exercises after teacher’s explanation and exemplification;
3. practice critical thinking skills through learning to ask the right questions to challenge what you read.
Besides, some students’ works will be shared and you will know what projects students in Nanjing University do during the course.
