Organizational behavior is an applied behavioral discipline built on contributions from a number of behavioral disciplines such as psychology, sociology, social psychology, and anthropology. It systematically studies the laws and regularities of human psychology and behavior in the organizational context. This course aims to help students understand and master the basic theories of organizational behavior at three levels: individual, group and organization so that they can accurately distinguish and evaluate the characteristics and differences of individual and group behaviors, understand and master the laws and regularities of people’s psychology and behavior in the workplace. The knowledge and skills introduced in this course help explain, predict, guide and control the behavior of people in the organizational context, so as to effectively improve organizational performance and achieve organizational goals.
Students are expected to have some background knowledge in basic Management Fundamentals and interest in exploring individual behaviors and group behaviors in the workplace.
