It is an all-English, exploratory, first course in circuit theory which is designed primarily for students majoring in electrical engineering. The ultimate goal of this course is to culture internationally competitive students, ensure their future career success. The corresponding lab and projects are designed to strengthen students' understanding of the lecture contents and develop hand-on circuit design and analysis skills. Emphasis is on the knowledge learning, interest inspiring and skill training.
This is a lecture-lab course in which topics are presented by the lecturer, and hand-on experiments are completed by students during the lab periods. Quizzes are given randomly during the lecture period and a comprehensive final exam will be given at the end of the semester. The team lab projects are designed to encourage students' innovation and capability of solving practical problems. This course assumes previous knowledge with general physics and advanced mathematics, so the emphasis is on the learning of analog electronics techniques.
Coursework will be weighted as following:
1. Attendance 10%
2. Homework 10%
3. Lab 20%
4. Final Exam 60%
10% + 10% + 20% + 60% = 100%
