Recommend: all 12 experiments of physical chemistry laboratory course are accompanied with virtual experiments!

Physical chemistry experiment, as one of the four fundamental chemistry experiment courses, is a pivotal course for undergraduates majoring in chemistry, chemical engineering, environment, and biology. Studying this course can deepen students' understanding of the basic concepts and theories and promote students' mastering of the experimental techniques and research methods of physical chemistry. It can cultivate not only students' practical ability, the ability to analyze and solve practical problems, but also students' rigorous and realistic scientific attitude and logical thinking ability, as well as students' creativity consciousness and innovation ability.

 

The online open course of Physical Chemistry Laboratory is elaborately designed based on the textbook ‘ Experiments in Basic chemistry' (Higher Education Press, the third edition, edited by Changgong Meng). It covers four parts, including thermodynamics, kinetics, surface and colloid, and electrochemistry. There is a total of 12 experiments, 60 class hours. Each experiment contains some learning resources, including recorded lectures about principles, video demonstrations of operations, courseware, virtual experiments, and unit quizzes, covering all offline teaching contents.

  The online open course of Physical Chemistry Laboratory provides multiple choices for students' learning methods, and provides strong support for improving the offline experiment teaching effect and comprehensively strengthening the cultivation of students' ability.

授课目标

(1)   To deepen students' understanding of the basic concepts and theories of physical chemistry.

(2)  To promote students' mastering of the experimental techniques and research methods of physical chemistry.

(3)  To cultivate students' practical ability, the ability to analyze and solve practical problems, rigorous and realistic scientific attitude, and logical thinking ability.

(4)  To cultivate students' creativity consciousness and innovation ability.

  The prerequisites of Physical Chemistry Laboratory are the theoretical knowledge of inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, and college physics, as well as some basic knowledge of advanced mathematics.
