Marine cargo operation refers to the behavior of transporting cargoes by sea in ships from the port of departure to the port of destination, safely, with high quality, fast and in an economical way.The course Marine Cargo Operation is an applied discipline for studying the marine characteristics of various types of cargoes transported by sea, the freight performance of various types of cargo ships, and the safe operation and effective management of all links in the whole transportation process by using the knowledge of ship statics, material mechanics, marine cargo science and maritime laws and regulations.Correspondingly, cargo are mainly consist of general cargo, container ships and bulk carriers.Transportation links mainly include: cargo accepting, pre-stowage, loading, stowage and securing, carriage, discharge and delivery.


The main purpose and task of the course are to teach students on the basic principles of ensuring the safety of ships, cargoes, personnel and the environment, the integrity of cargoes and the economic benefits in the process of marine cargo operation, to train the students in their ability to prevent marine accidents, face accidents with a proper attitude and cope with accidents.

The main purpose and task of the course are to teach students on the basic principles of ensuring the safety of ships, cargoes, personnel and the environment, the integrity of cargoes and the economic benefits in the process of marine cargo operation, through studying the operation technology and technics of acceptance, pre-stowage, loading, stowage and securing, carriage, unloading and delivery of general as well as special cargoes, solid bulk cargoes, liquid bulk cargoes and container cargoes, using the knowledge of ship statics, material mechanics, marine cargo science and maritime laws and regulations, to train the students in their ability to prevent marine accidents, face accidents with a proper attitude and cope with accidents, so as to lay a solid foundation for their performance in future work in the shipping industry.
