《高职公共英语》是面向广大高职院校在校学生或具备初高中英语基础知识，步入职场的学员们开设的一门公共基础课程。旨在培养学生在职场环境下运用英语的基本能力，特别是听说能力。同时提高学生的综合文化素养和跨文化交际意识，培养学生的学习兴趣和自主学习能力，使学生掌握有效的学习方法和学习策略，为提升学生的就业竞争力及未来的可持续发展打下必要的基础。
《高职公共英语（二）》是《高职公共英语》系列课程的第二册，课程内容主要涵盖了8个主题，4大模块和4项检测：
8个主题：旅行，健康， 购物，电子生活，时尚，环保，文化与职业
4大模块：听说训练，阅读拓展，应用文写作与语法复习（前两个为主，后两个为辅）
4项检测：课堂讨论，随堂测验，单元作业与单元测验
