《土木工程英语》依据内容驱动理论，坚持“反应学科主线、内容学生已知、重在语言表现”原则，教学内容反应土木工程类专业的学科主线，体现学科基本知识。课程内容帮助学习者理解和掌握本专业的重要词汇和在实践中提高思辨能力以及学术交流能力。该课程突出实用性，帮助学习者学会用英语学习专业知识，为在校学生升学、就业和出国深造奠定良好语言基础，为社会上从事土木工程领域工作的人士提供工作上的语言支持。
本课程适合所有与土木工程相关专业二年级学生选修。

1. 作业 (20%)：每次作业总分为10-30分。学生需完成所有作业，并按要求在规定截止日期前参与互评。

2. 单元测试(30%)：每个单元结束后有一次测试（Unit Test），测试内容为该单元涉及的专业词汇及学术技能。

3. 讨论 (10%)：针对课文所涉及知识点，教师会组织开放式讨论。学生须参与且用英文发帖，教师或助教会进行打分，或者组织学生互评打分。讨论回复情况，以及获得点赞数，将计入总评成绩。

4. 期末 (40%)：期末考试内容为与专业内容相关的阅读与写作。

已经修完大学英语四级课程，或已经通过大学英语四级考试。
