本课程旨在通过讲授英语论说文写作的一些基本理论,指导规范学生的英语议论文写作,通过理论结合实践的办法,巩固和提高学生用英语就讨论话题进行深度书面交流的能力。在教学过程中,本课程秉承写作即交际的指导原则,贯穿整个教学过程,通过教师讲授为主和师生互动为辅的形式来组织课堂教学,教师介绍理论,讲解写作的宏观环境,提高学生对英语论辩文写作的认识,使学生养成习惯从人际交往的角度出发,与读者平等沟通自身思想,学会用语言交际的眼光看待英语写作。在教学设计上,引入具有时效性的话题,引导学生讨论,融入写作理论,加深学生对理论的理解和掌握。在教学内容上,本课程主要涉及术语定义方法、命题类型以及与其相关的表述方法和支撑、推理模式等。本课程进一步拓展学生在段落、篇章等专项语言能力,使学生在已掌握的语言基础上,不断提高英语书面表达的准确性与鲜明性,锻炼学生的思辨能力、发现问题和解决问题能力,使学生能够准确得体地运用英语书面语言就讨论话题写出具有一定的深度,言之有物、观点正确、条理清楚的文章。
本课程总体设计以“教与学相结合”为原则,充分利用中国慕课联盟所提供的优秀教学资源(中国爱课程提供的由南开大学唐磊教学团队录制的《思辨式写作》课程https://www.icourse163.org/course/NANKAI-1003353002),采用学生自学线上相关课程章节和教师线下课程释疑、实践的混合教学模式。
