The course is arranged in the 2 semesters of the first year, with 32 hours in each semester.
The course development has gone through three stages.
The first stage is the adapting stage. In this stage, the course is designed for the summer camp short-term international exchange students with 8 teaching hours per semester, and 90 students in total.
The second stages is improving stage, when the course is officially set as a compulsory course for foreign students, with 56 teaching hours and144 students. The course is mainly teacher-centered.
The third stage is growing perfect stage. In this stage, the teaching hour is added to 64 hours. the number of students reaches 148. They are from Burma, Cameroon, East Timor, South Korea, Congo, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan and other countries respectively.
The task driven and discussion method is adopted in this course, using multimedia, network and electronic teaching resources.
Through these three stages, the curriculum design is gradually improved and perfected.
While the newly established business majors also showed a vigorous development trend, with lots of students applying for them. The school has Sino foreign cooperative education programs with U.S.A, Canada, UK, Germany, South Korea, Japan, and Thailand. The school has established a good interactive mechanism with Taiwan University of Applied Science and technology. The course is helpful and attractive to students both at home and abroad.
《汉字与书法》这门课专门为来华留学生,包含学历生、与短期语言生开设,是属于跨文化教育类的必修课程。
开设的时间是在第一年的第1和第2学期,每学期32课时。
课程发展经历了三个阶段。
第一阶段是教学的探索阶段,为国(境)外暑期夏令营短期交流学生专门设计,授课学时为每学期8课时,累计90人。
第二阶段是推进实施阶段,正式设置为留学生的必修课,授课学时总课时为56课时,累计约为114人。课堂主要呈现以教师为中心的特征。
第三阶段改革完善阶段,总课时进行了调整增加至64课时。累计148人,学历生分别来自缅甸、喀麦隆、东帝汶、韩国、刚果、孟加拉、哈萨克斯坦等国。
教学模式采用任务驱动及讨论分享方法;利用多媒体、网络、电子教学资源。
通过三个阶段逐步提高和完善课程设计。
学校的机电类工科专业优势明显,新兴商贸类专业也呈现出蓬勃发展态势,生源丰富。学校与美国、加拿大、英国、澳大利亚、德国、韩国、日本、泰国有中外合作办学项目以及校际交流项目,学校与台湾科技应用大学建立了良好的互动机制。该课程对境内外学生都有帮助和吸引力。
Examination method:
We combine everyday assessment (which is 70%) and final examination (which is 30%). We pay attention to students' learning process. The everyday assessment includes students’ attendance, classroom performance, the completion of sub tasks, group activities, etc.; The final assessment is mainly based on the completion of teaching content and objectives.
Examination content:
In the first semester - we employ test of hard pen calligraphy copy, creation and the theory test on the web site. In the second term - brush calligraphy copy, creation, and the theory test on the web site are employed.
考核方法:
主要采用平时考核(70%)与期末考核(30%)相结合的方式。注重学生的学习过程。平时考核包括学生的出勤、课堂表现、子任务完成情况、小组活动表现等;期末考核主要根据教学内容与目标考察完成的情况。
考核内容:
第一学期是硬笔书法临摹、创作以及MOOC教学网站的理论试题。第二学期是毛笔字书法临摹、创作以及MOOC教学网站的理论试题。

Teaching condition
We use materials of several textbooks and some videos, which are: “Chinese Characters and Calligraphy” (Chinese and English) published by Beijing Language and Culture University; some textbooks of calligraphy major, mainly include "Yan Zhenqing script tutorial" Chinese version, " The Essence of Zhu Suiliang’s Script Works” (Chinese version); and some videos.
