《综合英语》课程的重点是夯实学生专业基础、优化学生知识结构、提高学生语言综合运用能力。难点是对其自主学习能力、创新思维能力、就业能力以及个性、人文素养和科学精神进行训练和培养。
语言综合运用能力的形成建立在学生语言技能、语言知识、情感态度、学习策略和文化意识等素养综合发展的基础之上。我们在教学中注重学生语言技能的全面发展，突出语言的交际运用；同时合理调整学生知识结构，加大文化背景知识的介绍，努力处理好专业业务素质教育和文化背景教育的关系。
在发展学生自主学习能力之外，我们注重开发学生思维能力，激励学生大胆创新。在教学中认真践行“学生本位”、“素质本位”的思想，坚持以学生为中心。一方面注重教学内容的多样性、系统性、科学性以及时代性和人文性，另一方面充分利用现代信息化教学手段，将启发式、讨论式、体验式、探究式、合作式等现代教学理念应用于教学实践中，把握好知识与技能、学习与创新、应用与能力之间的关系。

（3）通过课程考试
（4）成绩认定标准：总成绩＝视频（40%）＋考试题（40%）＋课内讨论（20%）
（5）成绩合格的（60-84分）获得合格证书
（6）85分以上获得优秀证书
能听懂一般性题材的音视频资料，读懂一般性题材的英语文章，能就常见话题用英语进行交流，能完成一般性写作任务。
