课程概述

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is a discipline centered on surgical treatment, focusing on the prevention and management of diseases involving oral organs (teeth, alveolar bone, lips, cheeks, tongue, palate, pharynx, etc.), facial soft tissues, maxillofacial bones (maxilla, mandible, zygoma, etc.), temporomandibular joints, salivary glands, and certain neck conditions. It is also a core compulsory subject for dental students at our university.

Through this course, students will further master the diagnosis and treatment procedures and key surgical operation points for common and frequently occurring diseases in oral and maxillofacial surgery, while gaining a deeper understanding of complex cases. The content presented in the videos stimulates students' interest, laying a solid foundation for their in-depth and progressive learning.

The teaching design of the course adopts a disease-centered approach, expanding knowledge to various related fields. It integrates real clinical cases into teaching and combines pictures with text, enabling students to understand theoretical knowledge more profoundly and vividly, and realizing the integration of offline and online flipped classrooms. Meanwhile, a large number of digital technologies and virtual reality (VR) technologies are introduced to help students overcome difficult-to-understand problems and abstract concepts encountered in traditional teaching.

In the recording process of this course, not only are many new concepts and technologies incorporated to arouse students' strong interest in the course content and stimulate their desire to think continuously and pursue progress, but also appropriate emphasis is placed on the requirements for medical students' humanistic quality and education on caring for patients. This plays a positive role in cultivating high-level oral medical talents.
