Introduction to High-Speed Railway (HSR), is a foundation course for students majoring in traffic and transportation, elaborating on a wide variety of basics and topics in the field. This online module condenses the original 32 classroom sessions into 28 episodes of 20-minute lectures. Starting from the early development of China’s HSR, it encompasses key advancements and components of HSR, including the composition, the infrastructure, the stations, the EMUs, the power supply system, the control system, the dispatching, the passenger traffic service, and the safety guarantee of the HSR. This online course aims to cover all the main contents of traditional classroom teaching, with added value of showcasing the cutting-edge technological achievements of HSR in China. Despite the cut of teaching hours, the systematic and holistic knowledge with updates in technology is provided to help students navigate their learning.
