Pathology is a bridge between basic medicine and clinical medicine. It explores why the disease occurs (etiology), how it occurs (pathogenesis), what changes (metabolism, function and morphology) will occur, and what the outcome will be. The task of pathology is to provide the theoretical basis for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases for clinical medicine, to participate in the diagnosis of clinical diseases, to evaluate the new therapies and to discover and recognize the new diseases together with the clinic.
The MOOC of pathology here is divided into two parts: General pathology and systemic pathology. The general pathology includes the adaptation and damage of cells and tissues, the repair of injury, local circulation disorders, inflammation and tumor, which are the common features of various diseases and the basic pathological changes and mechanisms of diseases. Systemic pathology includes cardiovascular diseases, respiratory diseases, digestive system diseases, urinary system diseases, reproductive system diseases, lymphopoietic diseases and other common diseases.
We hope that through this course, we can lay a foundation for your clinical work in the future, and stimulate your interest in exploring the nature of the disease and studying the outcome of the disease.
