On the basis of analyzing characteristics of different coal gasification technology, this course introduces the theoretical basis of coal gasification progress, various gasification methods, basic principles, the selection of equipment type, operation control and safety environment protection measures and engineering practice ability, the calculation of material balance and energy balance, the content of control and regulation of the unit operations and unified operations and other aspects. Through studying this course, students should use the theoretical basis of coal gasification to understand and master the various gasification methods, equipment type selection, operation control and safety environment protection measures and engineering practice ability, the calculation of material balance and energy balance, the content of control and regulation of the unit operations and unified operations, to broaden the students’ professional knowledge, and train students to get the quality and ability of analyzing the local technical problems.

1.Master the basic principles and technical characteristics of various gasification methods, and the various of synthetic gasification preparation, according to the actual situation of social production to select the appropriate gasification technical route, and can systematically express this technical route.

2.Master the calculation methods of the various gasification methods of material balance and energy balance, can analyze the influence of technical parameters to the gasification efficiency, master the actual gasification technology in the safety and environmental protection, to understand the connotation and significance of the environmental protection and social sustainable development.

Prerequisite courses: chemical principles, physical chemistry, chemical thermodynamics, chemical reaction engineering and coal chemistry.
