课程概述

This is a Teacher-led, Learning-centered, and Production-oriented course, in which you will embrace abundant tasks designed to help you to reflect on what you have learned and then further practise. Your active participation is indeed the highlight of the course as we value nothing more than your initiative. Besides a general teaching goal of helping you to foster your basic language skills, this course also aims at an enhanced English communication competence as well as comprehensive quality of the target students. Here, English is more than a tool. Since we believe that education is far more than just simply providing students with professional knowledge, our team is devoted to delivering whole person education that fosters spiritual, intellectual, humane, and social development of learners. Not only will you learn to analyze the texts, master the vocabulary, and express yourself in English writing effectively, you are also given a chance to form critical thinking skills, to have a better understanding of the world today, and to establish the right values.

授课目标

We will cover 8 units in this course. With each unit focusing on one particular topic, it includes mainly 5 closely related and interwoven sections, namely overview, text analysis, vocabulary and grammar, ideological education, and writing strategy. Each part has been delicately designed. After each unit, you will be able to complete a unit project carefully designed to test your language competence and overall proficiency.
